Do non-verbal or selectively mute pupils need to do the Phonics Screening Check?
There is guidance about which pupils should not take the Phonics Screening Check (go to Section 4: Participating pupils).
This includes pupils who:- are working below the standard
- are EAL
- use British Sign Language (BSL)
- are non-verbal or selectively mute.
