Headteachers
Do you have advice about setting phonics and reading homework?
This is a tricky question to answer as homework policies differ greatly from school to school.
Also, we recognise that not all children get support with their reading at home. So, it is important to make sure the children can learn to read effectively during school time using our programme.
Rather than providing homework materials, we offer guidance for teachers to support families – head to the Engaging parents area to find out more. Use any opportunity you have to communicate with families about how to best support their child at home.
Take a look at our new blog on homework, which includes tips about engaging families with their child’s journey to becoming a fluent reader.
Also, direct families to the ‘For parents’ area of the website for lots of videos, guidance and materials to support their children's reading at home.
