How can I ensure a strong transition from Reception to Year 1?

Make sure you use all teaching time available and continue teaching to the end of term. Make sure Reception teachers have accurate, up-to-date assessments to support a successful transition. If any content is not secure in Reception, or has not yet been covered, this will need to be retaught in Year 1 in progression order. Don’t forget to reassess automaticity from Summer 1 to ensure accurate book levels.
