How can I get everyone blending?
Through whole-class and repeated practice.
Repeated practice beyond the lesson helps children move new learning into their long-term memory.
Timetable
- Do a whole-class blending blast. (Watch ‘Phase 2 blending blast’.) Use the Phase 2 additional blending practice or repeat the teacher-led blending section of that day’s lesson.
- Include incidental oral blending throughout the day. (Download and read the ‘Oral blending in provision’ guidance and watch the video.)
- Include repeated practice five times a day. (Download and read ‘Providing repeated practice: Practice throughout the day’.)
