Assessment tracker
How should I assess my Year 2 children?
This depends on which one of the following scenarios matches what you’re seeing.
- Filling gaps from Year 1 for the whole class? Use the appropriate assessment from the Assessment tracker.
- Assessing your Year 2 who are on track? Use the Phase 5 review on the Assessment tracker at the beginning of the five weeks and end of five weeks (this is to check for lost learning over the Summer, and won’t be needed if they start Phase 5 review later in the year).
- Children who are not on track and have larger gaps than the whole class (i.e. they are on Phase 2, 3, or 4)? Use the Rapid Catch-up assessments and add them to the Rapid Catch-up spreadsheet to calculate the results.
