I have some children in my group who seem ready to learn GPCs. What do you recommend?
We really believe that Nursery is the time to build the foundations for phonics through lots of stories, talking and phonological awareness development. For this reason, we encourage settings to focus on getting all children ready for Reception with these essential skills.
For those children who are already there, focus on other areas of their learning whilst you devote more time to other children who are not yet there.
