I’ve got children in my Reception class who appear to already be able to read, what should I do?
This is a question we encounter every year as new children start school and practitioners are rightly concerned about supporting all of them in the best way. Please take a look at our blog where we explain:
- What teaching content you should cover (Spoiler alert: We believe the Little Wandle progression is vital for all children, no matter if it appears they can already read).
- How to provide early readers with additional challenge (we’ve got lots of practical suggestions).
- What to say to families (we provide reassuring answers so that families can see their children are being properly supported and understand the important role they can play at home).
