What assessment should I do for a Year 1 child who is not on track?
Summative assessments – to be used every six weeks of the teaching cycle
Use these one-to-one assessments to keep track of pupils’ progress, inform next steps for teaching and identify pupils for Daily Keep-up. They should be carried out by the Reading Leader or class teacher.
Download the Assessment guidance document here for further help.
Read our ‘Supporting children with larger gaps in Year 1’ blog for further guidance.
Take a look at our ‘Getting back on track in Year 1’ blog which includes detailed advice and sample timetables.
Remember to always teach from the point of security.
