What books have word cards?
Decodable books: word cards provided.
Blending practice books: no word cards provided unless books contain tricky words (for example Fins and Legs Phase 2 Set 4, which contain the tricky words 'and' and 'the').
Wordless books: no word cards provided.
You can refer to the book lists from page 11 of our ‘Application of phonics to reading’ document to see which set each book is in. (Use the Ctrl+F on Windows, Cmd+F on Mac to search and find the titles quicker).
For guidance on how to deliver the reading sessions for the type of book (decodable, blending, wordless) you can refer to our 'How to' videos and templates in Reception – Reading, in the Weekly lesson content area.
Teacher notes are provided for all the books.
