What changes have you made to Year 1 planning for 2024/25?

Feedback from members at the end of the Summer term prompted us to revise three Year 1 planning documents (these are not included in our refresh PDF, which we released in June).

• Summer 2 weekly grids. The ‘Best bets’ activity for Summer 2 week 1 day 4 has been changed to a ‘Sort the words by phoneme’ activity. The words for the activity remain unchanged. In Summer 2 week 2, we have added a teaching note about the schwa sound written ‘re’ in words such as ‘treasure’ and ‘pleasure’. Download.
• We’ve updated the ‘Sort the words’ images for Summer 2 to reflect the change above. Download.
• We’ve also updated the ‘Sort the words’ images for Summer 1 to remove an incorrect image. Download.
