What does the Reading framework say about fidelity?
The Reading framework tells us that ‘programmes use programme-specific systems and terminology such as actions, mnemonics, prompts, key words and routines to teach knowledge and skills’, reminding us that ‘it is important not to confuse pupils by mixing material from different programmes or across different classrooms.’ (DfE, 2023)
When taken together with what Ofsted says, we can see ‘fidelity’ is an adherence to the progression, resources and approach of any SSP programme.
You can read a blog about fidelity here.
