What should I do for children at risk of falling behind?
Unless you’re brand new to Year 1 you’ll probably have a good idea of what children’s stumbling blocks might be.
Pre-empt this as much as you can by adding in a quick phonics blast in the afternoon with a specific focus such as, tricky word shuffles or reading without overt blending.
We also recommend that you add Phase 3 GPCs to your review pack and pre-teach Phase 5.
