What should I do if a child is struggling with blending?
You might have some children in your class who are finding it harder to master blending. It’s important to understand the reasons for this.
Your child might:
- have hearing or sight difficulties
- have difficulty producing sounds
- be bilingual or multilingual
Also consider the following:
- Is phonological and phonemic awareness an issue?
- Is GPC knowledge secure?
- Teach blending with words that have continuant sounds
Our blog Everybody blend! offers guidance on all of these issues.
