What support do you have for my Year 1 fluency assessments?
To leave the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds programme we advise that children should be reading at 60 to 70 words per minute in Year 1. Our blog explains more and you can also find a video and guidance on the Year 1 Assessments link in your Programme content area.
While 60 to 70 words per minute is enough to leave the Letters and Sounds programme, our optional Little Wandle Fluency programme supports children in Year 2 and beyond to become fully fluent readers of 120 words per minute.
