When should we use the Phase 5 Set 5 Fluency assessments?
In Year 2.
Remember that you should not use the Phase 5 Set 5 Fluency assessments in Year 1 as these are for use in Year 2 once the children have been reading these books for at least five weeks.
Take a look at the ‘Year 2 pathways’ flowchart for more information. This assessment tells you whether a child is ready to exit the programme or needs to read more Phase 5 Set 5 books. The Stretch and Challenge books are a great way to provide additional practice for these children.
