Phase 3
Where can I find worksheets to send home with the children?
Little Wandle does not offer worksheets or workbooks.
Instead, we would suggest that you send home the right resources to further secure phonics learning. These might include:
- Recently taught grapheme cards or stickers with graphemes
- Letter formation practice sheets
- Recently taught tricky words
- Weekly spelling lists for Year 1
Why?
They run counter to the Little Wandle pedagogy, which is that expert direct instruction from trained staff is how children learn to read.
At the very early stages of learning, a lack of direct teacher input risks children embedding or overlearning misconceptions. Not only is this unhelpful for children, but it also makes your job in the classroom even harder than it is now!
