Why does the tracker tell me to ‘refer to the placement assessment’?
The tracker will give you this response when it does not have assessment information to make a book level recommendation. This is most likely because pupils do not meet the threshold for the reading books at the level that you are assessing, or in any previous assessment.
Ensuring you reassess every three weeks until children have met the thresholds will ensure you get an accurate book level. If you feel you cannot go back to previous assessments, you will need to use your teacher judgement and the matching grid to find the appropriate book level.
Make sure to upload to the Assessment tracker website which will show progress and recommended book level.
