What should Nursery be doing during the BIG Little Wandle INSET?
Anyone in your Nursery team who is new should start with the Getting started training.
If your team is more experienced, then we would suggest that you prioritise these key actions:
- Use the ‘Language and communication-rich environment checklist’ to audit your setting. What actions do you need to take to make sure talk is at the heart of your environment?
- Read the updated ‘Foundations for Phonics: Progression and planning overview’ with your team. We have made some great improvements to make teaching a Tuning into sounds session even easier. As you read it, have a look at our brand-new ‘weekly plan builder’. Remember though that you shouldn’t start teaching Tuning into sounds lessons until Autumn 2.
