Where should I start with a new child joining Nursery? 

Helping new children settle into their new environment and feel confident is a priority. Include them in Rhyme time sessions from the start. If they are going into Reception in September, then they can join in with Tuning into sounds as well. Put them in a small group with children who will welcome them and model good engagement in the activities.
